UPDATE: Officials with the Ector County Sheriff’s Office say the explosive item has been removed and disposed of.
The area, according to a release, is safe for residents.
ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Several law enforcement agencies are on scene after a possible explosive item was located in Ector County Wednesday.
According to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, the item was located in a building that was being cleaned out in the 6000 block of Ector Avenue.
Officials with the ECSO say the Midland and Odessa Bomb Squads were called to assist in removing the item.
The ECSO is also asking residents to avoid the area until the scene is cleared.
