MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The City of Midland has officially announced the opening dates for the Doug Russell Pool and the Washington Family Aquatic Center.

City officials say both will open on June 10. However, due to staffing shortages, the city says they will open six days a week and will alternate days.

Only 50 percent capacity will be allowed at the pools and aquatic centers, per Gov. Greg Abbott’s orders.

To accommodate residents, city officials will sell three-hour entry passes 30 minutes prior to the posted opening times, according to a release.

No private parties or reservations will be allowed.
