Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners to host clay shoot fundraiser

Local News

MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners will be hosting a clay shoot fundraiser next week.

The fundraiser helps the organization raise scholarship awards for college students studying to work in the oil and gas industry.

The clay shoot will take place in Midland at the Midland Shooters Association.

“This money doesn’t raise itself and it’s been a tough year. You know, last year we brought in over $200,000 and this year we’ll be lucky to hit $100,000. So our clay shoot is one of our big three items,” said Jason Wolf, Chairman of the board.

The clay shoot is one of three big fundraisers the non-profit puts together.

This year they were able to donate scholarship rewards to Odessa College, Midland College, and UTPB.

“Almost all those dollars go towards scholarships, go towards funding some of those endowment programs, and educational programs that we believe in,” says Silver Vasquez of the PBPA.

According to the Permian Basin Association of Pipeliners website more than 30 people have registered.
