MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – This month, the Texas Department of Transportation will begin a project to build an overpass in Midland.
TxDOT says the overpass will be on Loop 250 spanning County Road 1140 but crews will also extend the main lanes on Loop 250 from CR 1150 to Business 20 during the project.
Traffic disruptions and lane closures will be required throughout the project. TxDOT officials note in phase one, lane closures will be necessary as crews build bridge approaches.
During the project, a 50 MPH speed limit will be put in place along with a 12 feet width restriction on service roads.
Drivers are asked to plan ahead and find alternate routes. The project is expected to be completed in Summer 2022.
