ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar) – Odessa Police are investigating after someone crashed into a wall at an elementary school and a street light on New Year’s Day.
Police say the crash occurred around 8:39 p.m. New Year’s Day in the 500 block of South Dixie Boulevard.
While investigating, officers learned the driver of a Toyota Corolla crashed into a nearby street light and a wall at Blackshear Elementary School, according to a release.
One person inside the vehicle, identified as a 26-year-old man, was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injures and police say the driver left the scene.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown and police say the investigation is ongoing.
