OPD arrests one in robbery case

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Odessa Police have arrested one man in connection with a robbery that occurred Friday morning.

Police officials say around 9:41 a.m. Friday morning, officers were called to the area of 17th and Cumberland about a disturbance.

At the scene, police spoke to a woman who said a man approached her and threatened to kill her and her baby, according to a release.

The suspect reportedly drove away from the scene in a red vehicle.

Officers later located the suspect in the area of Oakwood and Wedgewood and say he was found with property that had been reported stolen.

The victim also identified the man as the suspect in the robbery, according to the release.

The suspect, Johnaron Orona, has since been arrested and charged with robbery and possession of stolen property.
