Local News

MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Another resident at Midland Medical Lodge has tested positive for COVID-19, according to a release from the City of Midland Tuesday.

City officials say the patient is a man in his 80’s and is currently in the isolation area at Midland Medical Lodge. His source of exposure was contact with a known case.

This brings the overall count in Midland County to 65.

Several residents and staff members at MML have tested positive for the virus in recent weeks, according to prior reports.

City officials announced late Monday night that at least 13 new cases at MML had been confirmed.

A team of health officials was sent to MML last week after several residents and staff members tested positive for the virus. Midland Health then tested all of the residents at the facility and most of the staff.

Midland Health CEO Russell Meyers says several more residents at Midland Medical Lodge tested positive and they are still waiting on more results to come back.
