One killed in car-pedestrian crash, MPD searching for driver

MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – One person was killed following a crash early Thursday morning in Midland.

Midland Police officials say officers were called to the crash just before 6 a.m. Thursday in the area of Rankin Highway Wolcott Avenue.

At the scene, police located the victim, 68-year-old Andrea Pruneda, who was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital and later pronounced dead by medical personnel, according to a release.

Officials say the driver left the scene following the crash. Now officers are searching for a dark or black 2011-2013 Kia Sorrento SUV with damage to the front passenger side.
