MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – One person is in critical condition following a drive-by shooting in Midland, according to a release from the Midland Police Department Thursday morning.

Police officials say they were called to the drive-by shooting around 10:21 p.m. Wednesday night in the 3600 block of Wall Street.

The vehicle has been described as a dually dark-colored truck, possibly brown, with a light bar on top.

At the scene, officers learned the victim was traveling in the 4000 block of Bankhead Highway when it “sounded like the victim’s vehicle blew a tire,” the release reads.

When the victim had stopped, police say another vehicle drove by and a suspect started shooting, police say.

The victim, who has not been identified, has been taken to Midland Memorial Hospital and is currently in critical but stable condition.
