One charged in stabbing investigation

ANDREWS, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Andrews Police have charged one man following a stabbing that occurred Tuesday night.

Police officials say officers were called to the stabbing around 7:15 p.m. in the area of N. Main Street.

At the scene, officers found two people holding 21-year-old Cruzito Gutierrez at gunpoint, according to a release from the department.

Those holding Gutierrez at gunpoint told police that he had stabbed a woman and threatened one of them with a knife.

The victim was later found in the parking lot of a convenience store and was taken to Permian Regional Medical Center. Police officials say she has since been treated and released.

Police have charged Gutierrez with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and assault against a family member with previous conviction.
