BIG SPRING, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – One man has been arrested following a car-pedestrian crash that occurred Tuesday in Big Spring.
Police officials say they were called to the crash around 7:38 p.m. Tuesday night in the 3100 block of Highway 80.
At the scene, officers located a 61-year-old man who had been driving a motorized scooter. Officials say the man was struck by a vehicle and the driver left the scene.
The victim was taken to Scenic Mountain Medical Center and later to UMC in Lubbock, according to a release.
A few hours later police say the driver went to the department and told officers he had struck the pedestrian.
The driver, Willie Gray, was later arrested and charged with accident involving injury or death.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
