ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar) – The Ector County Sheriff’s Office responded to an officer-involved shooting in West Odessa, according to Sheriff Mike Griffis.
Around 5 o’clock Friday night, an Ector County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a disturbance on a property located at Sparta Ave. in West Odessa.
When the officer arrived on scene, they encountered an person who was armed with a weapon. The officer was forced to open fire according to Sheriff Griffis.
Sheriff Griffis has confirmed a subject has died and the officer was not injured.
The identity of the suspect who was killed has not been released at this time.
