Odessa Police make arrest after terroristic threat

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Odessa Police have arrested Michael Ray Akins, on five counts of terroristic threats.

Monday, a report was made to OPD that a man had attempted to enter the Verizon store on East 42nd Street. According to OPD, the complainant explained that due to the pandemic, Verizon was restricting customer access to the business.

The man, later identified as Akins, became irate and coughed in the direction of employees saying, “I hope you all get sick,” according to the report from OPD.

OPD detectives identified Akins, obtained 5 terroristic threat warrants and charged him accordingly.
