Odessa Police arrest two in convenience store robbery

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Odessa Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with an armed robbery that occurred earlier this week.

The investigation began Monday when OPD officers were called to the DK Convenience store at 4th Street and Dixie Boulevard.

While at the scene, police spoke to a 19-year-old who said he was robbed at gunpoint.

The victim reportedly told police two suspects came up to him in the parking lot, pointing a handgun and demanding money.

Police say the victim handed over more than $200 to the suspects who then drove away in a Chrysler 200.

While investigating, an officer located the vehicle in the area of 10th Street and Dixie Boulevard, according to the release. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the suspect, who initially gave fake names, according to the release.

They were later identified as Ervin Jones and Kristina Riley. Police say Jones was wanted on a false drug test falsification device charge and Riley was found with the exact amount of money that had been taken from the victim.

The victim later identified Riley and Jones as the suspects who robbed him a gunpoint, according to the release.

Police have since charged Riley and Jones with aggravated robbery.
