ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Odessa Police have arrested Omar Alejandro Venegas on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and multiple other charges after police were called to the 4400 block of Redbud in reference to a shots fired call.
According to OPD, Venegas fired a round out of the window of a car. Officers on the scene say they saw a man matching the suspect’s description and attempted to apprehend him. He ran on foot. Venegas took a handgun and threw it on the ground, according to OPD.
Venegas was eventually located with the assistance of a K-9 unit. Venegas was arrested and taken to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center.
There were no reported injuries.
