New name and now new logo for Legacy High School

MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar) – Lee Senior and Lee Freshman High School has left it up to their students to choose a new logo for Legacy High School.

Not only will the name change to Legacy for Lee Senior and Freshman High School be new for the 2021-22 school year but also a new mascot inspired by student artwork.

A total of sixteen student submission, were finalized to two. And of the two finalized between May 3 – 7 students voted on their favorite new Rebel depiction.

With new changes the one thing that will remain the same are the school colors of maroon and white along with the classic “bar L” lettering.

Back in 2020 the Midland ISD Board of Trustees voted to change the name of the district’s Robert E. Lee High Senior to Legacy High School and Freshman High Schools to Legacy Freshman High School.

And instead of the a Rebel from the Civil War era this new rebel will be from the Revolutionary War Era.
