GAINES COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) –
UPDATE: Nashville Police say Peter Alexander Bohning died at a Texas hospital following the altercation.
A murder suspect out of Nashville, Tennessee reportedly stabbed a deputy in Gaines County.
According to Police officials in Nashville, Tenn., Peter Alexander Bohning, was wanted on a murder charge and was believed to be driving a gray Toyota Camry.
The suspect’s vehicle was eventually located in Gaines County, according to a twitter post from the Nashville Police Department.
Officials say a Gaines County Deputy was responding to the suspicious vehicle when an altercation occurred and the deputy was stabbed and taken to University Medical Center in Lubbock.
Bohning was reportedly shot during the altercation.
Nashville Police report the deputies injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
Officials with the Texas Department of Public Safety have confirmed to our sister station in Lubbock that Texas Rangers are investigating the case.
