MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – One person is dead following a car-pedestrian crash that occurred Thursday night in Midland, according to a release from Midland Police.
Officers were called to the crash around 9 p.m. Thursday night in the 700 block of East Florida Street.
When officers arrived, they located a man that had been struck by an SUV, police say. The man was reportedly not in a crosswalk.
While investigating, police officials learned the driver was headed west on Florida Street and collided with the man in the roadway, the release reads.
The victim was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital and later pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Police officials say no charges are pending and the identity of the pedestrian has not been released, as they work to notify next of kin.
