MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar)- Midland Police have arrested a suspect following a deadly stabbing Sunday.
That suspect, who has not yet been identified, has been charged with murder.
Around 1:31 a.m. on May 16, an off-duty Midland Police officer called for emergency services to respond to Club Arriba at 1006 S Midkiff Road.
An unidentified man was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
Investigators say a verbal argument between the victim and the suspect started inside Club Arriba and continued outside in the parking lot. According to MPD, the verbal argument escalated into a physical one and the victim was stabbed several times before the suspect ran away.
Later, Crime Stoppers received a tip with the location of the suspect.
The suspect was taken into custody for questioning where the suspect confessed to the stabbing, according to a release.
MPD says the investigation is ongoing and names will be released once next of kin has been notified.
