MISD keeping mask requirement, will discuss future plans at board meeting

Local News

MIDLAND, Texas (Nexstar) – Midland ISD has announced they will continue their mask requirement when students return from Spring Break.

The district announced the move Friday, just a few days after Governor Greg Abbott rescinded the state-wide mandate and the Texas Education Agency offered its guidance on the matter.

However, in the TEA guidance earlier this week, it stated local school boards could change the mask policy.

MISD says they will discuss the mask policy in its March 22 meeting and allow parents and staff members to share their thoughts with the board.
