MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Drivers in Midland are still paying the most at the gas pump, according to AAA Texas.
Officials say Midlanders are paying the most on average at $1.75 per gallon.
Meanwhile, the average price for a gallon of unleaded fuel in Texas sits right at $1.50 as demand increases.
AAA Texas says that the statewide average has not been as low as $1.50 since 2009. The national average per gallon is $1.81.
“Demand for gasoline is on the rise, and that could mean a price increase at the pump for drivers in the coming weeks,” AAA Texas Spokesman Daniel Armbruster. “However, gasoline demand levels remain far below last year’s figures, and that’s helping keep gas prices cheaper year-over-year.”
