MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Officials with the Unified Command Team in Midland will meet again today to discuss their ongoing response to Coronavirus.
The update will be their first since the Thanksgiving Holiday, and local health experts fear a surge could be coming while hospital capacity and staffing is already stretched thin.
Currently there are nearly 8,000 cases reported in Midland County along with 148 deaths.
Officials with the Midland Health Department have also reported 154 unconfirmed positive cases for December 1. Those cases are listed as unconfirmed positives because the MHD has not yet been able to reach out to patients to confirm residency.
The MHD remains several days behind in contacting positive patients.
