AUSTIN, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Midland remained at the top of drilling permits and completion stats in January, data from the Railroad Commission of Texas shows.
In total, the RRC issued more than 1,100 original drilling permits in January, down slightly from the same month in 2019.
Here is a breakdown of the numbers:
- 1,041 permits to drill new oil or gas wells
- 8 to re-enter plugged well bores
- 84 for re-completions of existing well bores.
