MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Midland County District Attorney Laura Nodolf announced that 62-year-old Richard Del Lee has been sentenced to life in prison after continuous sexual abuse of two young girls.

After hearing evidence Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, the jury found Lee guilty after 30 minutes of deliberating. Lee chose to have the jury assess his punishment and after 10 minutes of deliberating they sentenced him to life in prison.

Lee is guilty of sexually abusing two girls over the course of multiple years. The abuse was brought to light in July of 2018 after one of the girls feared the abuse was happening to her younger half-sister.

The case was tried by Assistant District Attorney Lacey Holloman. The defendant was represented by Ed Shelby. The trial was held in the 238th District Court and presided over by visiting Judge Robert Moore.
