UPTON COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A 51-year-old man from Midland was killed following a crash north of Rankin on Friday, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Troopers were called to the crash around 1:27 p.m. Nov. 15 on Highway 349 about 18 miles north of Rankin.

While investigating, troopers learned the driver of a semi-truck, Juan Martinez, was headed south on Highway 349 when he collided with another semi-truck that was turning into a private drive, the report reads.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene and officials say the driver of the other semi-truck, Pedro Rosales, was taken to Midland Memorial Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries.
