MIDLAND, TX (Big 2/ Fox 24 ) – Clark Gardens Corporation’s first year to host community seed exchange in Midland. Many West Texas gardeners gathered to share knowledge and seeds.

While harvesting season may be over, Midland gardeners say it’s never too late to plan for next year.

Jessie Clark, an owner of Clark Gardens Corporation, says her love for gardening traces back to her family’s heritage.

“My family from my mother and father side are both farmers,” she says. “So, it just runs in my blood.”

Jessie continues to embrace her family heritage with the community.

“My grandparents were really into it because it was survival,” Clark says. “I’m excited we can keep it going.”

Other gardeners say the weather doesn’t stop them from selecting new crops and produce to plant next spring.

“It’s definitely a way to maintain good health,” Susie Yoborough says .”I find nothing more pleasurable than planting a seed and watching it grow.”
