MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/ Fox 24)- Professional, experienced, and personable are some of the adjectives David Criner uses to describe himself.
“I’m going to raise that level of professionalism to where it needs to be, I’m going to mirror DPS in a lot of our policies and procedures because I feel that DPS is the premier law enforcement agency and I want Midland County recognized as a premier law enforcement agency as well.”
With 25 years at DPS five years at the Sheriff’s Office, and seven years as a Constable Criner says he’s the candidate that can take on the job.
“My character based on my history in law enforcement and with other agencies in Texas, and in our County, that you’ll find that I do have a relationship with everybody and that I do have a first name basis with most officers in this city and in the County and with the State. I’m fluent in traffic, criminal, family code, and civil law, and that’s why I feel like the best candidate for the position.”
Criner says, Midland will always hold a special place in his heart and if elected he already has things in mind he wants to implement.
“I have some priorities I want to take care of, one of them is to pursue drug dealers and those sex offenders who have preyed against our public and keep our thumbs on them because I don’t like people that prey on our community and I will be a staunch supporter of the second amendment rights, I won’t waiver from that.”
