MIDLAND COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – An 18-year-old was arrested after Midland County Deputies reportedly found him with weapons that had been reported stolen and drugs following a crash.
MCSO deputies were called to the crash around 3 a.m. Wednesday morning in the 7100 block of Airline Road.
When they arrived at the scene, deputies found Christopher Nichols inside of the vehicle that had crashed into a fence, according to a release. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Odessa, officials say.
Officials say Nichols had marijuana, methamphetamine, two guns, one of which had been reported stolen, and an illegal suppressor.
He also reportedly tried to run from deputies but was quickly captured.
Nichols has since been arrested and charged with:
- Manufacturing or delivery of a controlled substance
- Possession of a controlled substance
- Prohibited weapon
- Escape while arrested
- Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle
- Theft of a firearm
- Unlawful carry of a weapon
- public intoxication
