ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar) – Medical Center Hospital will officially close its drive-thru vaccination site today as new plans are put in place.
For about a month, the hospital has been providing the Coronavirus vaccine out at Ratliff Stadium, administering thousands of doses to the community. Thursday marked the final day at the stadium as they prepared to team up with Odessa Regional Medical Center to lighten the logistical load.
After Thursday, MCH will provide first doses out of its clinics and ORMC will contact residents for their second dose.
Meanwhile, the Coronavirus numbers in Ector County have shown signs of improvement as both hospitals tout a lower COVID-19 census.
According to the Texas Department of State Health Services, there are 8,442 confirmed cases, 7,936 probable cases, and 1,170 active cases. More than 14,870 have recovered from the virus.
