Locals react to first 2020 debate

Local News

ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar) – The first presidential debate of 2020 left many underwhelmed, and West Texas is no different. Many thought it was an argument, rather than a debate.

Two kids fighting on the playground, I didn’t see anything that would switch one party to the other side. I didn’t care for the mediator at all, I thought he was a little biased.

Scott Frady

Some also said they’d like to see better moderation.

I didn’t care for the mediator at all, I thought he was a little biased.

I felt like Chris Wallace … I felt like he tried to do a good job … I felt he didn’t keep control over the fact … Okay Biden, let’s stop let’s let Trump finish what he needed to say.

Lori Murray

Others said for the next debate, they’d rather hear more policies than jabs going back and forth.

That’s what’s happening in this country … everyone is arguing … they are not debating they are arguing.

Bernard Buffone

A whole lot of arguing back and forth and cutting each other down is not information that I need and want to hear … it really just left me in the blank.

Emilio Pena
