MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Midland landfill fire has been extinguished.
City officials confirmed the fire has been put out and the landfill has been re-opened to the public.
As you may recall, the fire began Tuesday morning, promoting the city to close the site to the public.
It has been burning since, although crews were able to contain it as of Tuesday afternoon.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
