Kids Farmers Market is back in West Texas

Local News

ODESSA, Texas (Nexstar) – The long awaited kid function is making its way back to West Texas hosted by the West Texas Food Bank, sponsored by H-E-B.

Craig Stoker with West Texas Food Bank says this event is to encourage children to try new things.

“Helping people make healthier choices and introducing the kiddos to things they may not have had before, says Stoker. “So the idea for the kids farmers market came from that, we want to be able to bring things into the lives of kiddos that they may or may not run into on a day-to-day basis.”

Kiddos can look forward to learning about fruits and veggies in different way while cooking exotic fruits and vegetables with Kimberly.

And it doesn’t stop there the kids will get another set of skills with Gardener Patti, who will be teaching kids about planting.

Because of the partnership between the West Texas Food Bank and H-E-B kids of all ages will be able to fill their Farmers Market bag with fresh produce for free.

The free event will take place on Saturday, June 5th, from 10am – 1pm at the West Texas Food Bank Odessa Facility located at 411 S. Pagewood Ave.
