LUBBOCK, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – A man, wanted on a kidnapping charge in Odessa, was arrested in Lubbock.

According to Lubbock Police, Jonathan Castillo was arrested Thursday on the kidnapping and assault charges.

The investigation began back in January when officers were called to the 4200 block of North Grandview about the kidnapping.

At the scene, a man told officers that he had seen a man assault a 37-year-old woman and force her into a car while she was screaming, according to a release from the OPD.

The man also reportedly told police that he tried to help the woman but was assaulted by the suspect.

Police say they located the woman at a local hotel and learned that her boyfriend, Jonathan Castillo, had taken her against her will.

The search then began for Castillo who was arrested by LPD this week.
