Image gallery: mass shooting in Odessa
ODESSA, Texas — As of Sunday morning the death toll was seven victims after a mass shooting that happened Saturday afternoon in Odessa. The gunman was also killed for a total of eight people who died.
On Saturday afternoon a DPS Trooper made what appeared to be a routine traffic stop. During the stop, a suspect shot the Trooper, police said.
The suspect then drove off, and then hijacked a mail truck, police said. The suspect shot people randomly before he was found and confronted by officers at the Cinergy movie theater.
Officers shot and killed the suspect, police said.
