ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Hospital officials and the Ector County Health Department are set to provide another update Wednesday as COVID-19 cases continue to climb.
As of Monday, 900 total cases had been reported in Ector County, 558 of which have been confirmed and 342 are probable.
Officials with the Ector County Health Department noted this week that they will only be updating numbers three times a week as officials with the ECHD have become overwhelmed with the number of cases coming in.
However, health officials did confirmed the eighth COVID-19 related death on Tuesday afternoon. The patient was a 31-year-old man who was being treated at Odessa Regional Medical Center.
The data from the ECHD confirmed the rise in hospitalizations as well.
Data shows the patients being hospitalized and the patients in the ICU are both on the rise. Meanwhile, patients on ventilators has increased as of late as well but haven’t shown the sharp rise of the other categories.
