PECOS COUNTY (Nexstar) – Six immigrants have been arrested following a high-speed chase that started in Brewster County and ended in Pecos County, according to a Facebook post.

In the early morning hours on February 8, a deputy with the Brewster County Sheriff’s Office received a tip about a group of suspicious people loading into a vehicle.

The deputy saw the vehicle traveling north on Highway 385 and tried to make a traffic stop.

The vehicle failed to stop leading the deputy on a high-speed chase heading into Pecos County.

US Border Patrol, Pecos County Sheriff’s Office, Texas DPS, and DPS Aircraft Operations responded to the chase.

DPS laid spike-strips out and the suspects in the vehicle tried to flee on foot.

All six immigrants were taken into custody. Five of the immigrants were turned over to border patrol agents. The driver was taken by Brewster County Deputy and charged with evading arrest.
