BIG SPRING, Texas (Nexstar) – Four families were displaced following a fire at a Big Spring apartment complex earlier Sunday morning.
Crews responded to the fire around 2 a.m. Sunday morning at the Ponderosa Apartments in the 1400 block of East 6th Street.
At the scene, crews found multiple units fully engulfed in flames and say the fire spread to other nearby units at the complex.
The first was under control around 4 a.m., according to a release.
The Big Spring Emergency management department and the Red Cross later set up a reunification Center at the Dorothy Garrett Coliseum for the families displaced, the release reads.
At least two people were transported to Scenic Mountain Medical Center for smoke inhalation and burn injuries and Big Spring Fire says the cause is currently under investigation.
