CRANE, Texas (Nexstar) – A former Sheriff in Crane County has died after battling the Coronavirus.
According to a post from the Crane County Sheriff’s Office, former Sheriff Danny Simmons died Thursday morning.
“The community is saddened by the news of his passing. Danny lived here several years and raised his children here, it is tragic news to hear of his passing…he was a good friend to our area,” Crane County Sheriff Andrew Aguilar.
Simmons served with the Crane Police Department and the Crane County Sheriff’s Office until 2004.
