Five teens arrested in connection to the death of Robert Duncan

MIDLAND, Texas (Big 2/ Fox 24)- “Some things went wrong and the people that he came out here with just left and they’re not being very truthful,” says Silver Nock.

Robert Duncan’s family, Rylie Prcin, Silver Nock, Toby Nock, embracing one another as they searched for him Tuesday, December 31st.

It’s a call no mother wants to receive her son, Robert Duncan, was as found dead near County Road 1230 and County Road 120 in Midland after being missing for days. Now she’s left to mourn the loss of her son and piece together what went wrong the night of December 27th.

“These two boys that he came with they told me to my face they told my mom to her face and told him to his face that Robert’s their best friend, their brother, they’re worried about him; so on and so forth but their lying about the last time that they saw him.”

The Midland County Sheriff’s Office obtaining three search warrants in connection with the homicide and later arresting and charging five teenagers who knew Duncan.

Chief Deputy Rory McKinney stating in a press release that 17-year old Larry West and 18- year old Zayden Hayes are both charged with capital murder, an offense punishable by the death penalty.
Eighteen-year-old Rogelio Cadena is charged with first-degree murder followed by 17-year old John Hayes charged with interfering with public duties and 18- year old Rogelio Vasquez is charged with tampering with evidence.

“They are trying to give a different story to divert us when there is multiple people that say otherwise and they’re the last ones to see Robert,” says the mother.

The family now left with memories of their beloved son, brother, and Midland Lee student who loved the band and brought so much joy to their lives.

“He’s funny, he’s charming, he’s quick-witted, he’s just he’s all-out fun to be around. His teachers love him, his peers love him, if you’re having a bad day he’s your go-to.”
