ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Members of the Ector County ISD board of trustees took steps Tuesday night to keep Superintendent Scott Muri in Odessa.
Muri has been praised for his leadership, as he led the district through a difficult year. A mass shooting, a global pandemic and a trustee resignation, 2020 has not been easy for the district or parents.
However, ECISD has maintained they have the right person leading the charge and on Tuesday night, the board took action to ensure Muri sticks around.
The board voted to extend his contract by one year, to June 30, 2025, and to increase his salary by two percent, the same increase full-time teachers received. Retirement contributions were also increased from 60 to 80 percent, a release from the district reads.
