Developing story of Quartz Avenue shooting

ODESSA, TX(Big 2/ Fox 24) – We continue to look into the developing story of a woman in Ector County who was struck by a bullet in her shoulder.

The Ector County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 15000 block of South Quartz Avenue.


Deputies say upon arrival they were told three people entered an RV and attacked the homeowner.


“We don’t know what led to all of that,” Sheriff Mike Griffis says. “Maybe some carelessness, something of that nature.”

Investigators say during the altercation, one of the attackers pulled a gun and fired shots, the bullet flew across the street and struck the woman inside her home.


“The victim has been treated and released from the hospital.”

The homeowner told officials the three people responsible for the assault took off. 

“We expect to make an arrest,” Sheriff Griffis says.
