Big Spring resident wants city to take action

BIG SPRING, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – One Big Spring resident and his family had enough of the massive construction hole outside of their home.

“It’s been stressful that house has been flooded three times,” says Jacob William. “Our floors are buckling it’ll be a complete mess.”

William and his family members are frustrated by the massive construction hole that’s sitting outside of their home.

They say it’s been there for months.

“It has been an ongoing problem with the city,” William says. “We’ve been constantly trying to get a hold of them the city manager.”

William says the construction hole is causing his family to spend a great amount of money to fix flooding issues.

“It gets expensive after a while,” he says. “We had at least three plumbers to come out here and it has always been out of our pocket.”

Mayor Shannon Thomason stated the City of Big Spring is well aware of the city’s infrastructure.

“In the upcoming council meeting, I fully intend to throw the subject of re-instituting a project,” Thomason says.

The program would designate a digital platform allowing residents to file a report on potholes or construction holes.

He hopes this will speed up the communication between residents and the city.
