BIG SPRING, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Detectives with the Big Spring Police Department have been investigating a number of vehicle burglaries in the city.

The joint investigation led to the arrest of 28-year-old Casey Adam Torrence. He has been charged with Theft of Firearms, Felon in Possession of Firearms, Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicles, Burglary of Vehicles and Burglary of Habitations.

On December 5th, Big Spring Police, Midland Police and Glasscock Count Sheriffs obtained multiple warrants for the arrest.

Torrence’s home was monitored by the departments when he was seen entering a stolen vehicle. The officers waited until Torrence left the populated area and then attempted a traffic stop. Torrence refused to stop and officers chased the car for 45 minutes.

Torrence abandoned the truck and fled into a wooded area just northwest of Roberts Lake. Torrence was found hiding under a pile of brush.

Torrence is in the Howard County Jail at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
