Aggravated robbery turns into chase in Ector County

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – An aggravated robbery at an auto sales store turned into a chase Friday afternoon.

According to the Ector County Sheriff’s Office, the robbery happened at the Good Lick Mini Mart on War Admiral Drive. The suspect displayed a handgun during the robbery, Sheriff Mike Griffis said.

A witness followed the suspect to Franco’s Liquor Store on West University. At that point, a lieutenant pulled up behind the suspect. The man is accused of ramming the patrol unit and taking off.

The pursuit ended at Moss and Interstate 20. John James McDaniel is now in police custody.
