ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – The Coronavirus numbers in Ector County are improving.
According to health officials, daily new cases are dropping, hospital census numbers are falling and no new deaths were reported over the weekend.
This is welcoming news for health officials who have been on the frontline of the virus for the past several months.
Cautious optimism is now at the forefront of conversations as health officials begin to discuss resuming elective procedures and getting back to the new normal.
However, all have warned that while numbers look encouraging, social distancing, masks and other safety precautions should still take place. If they are not followed, the numbers could spike again in the Permian Basin.
Odessa Regional Medical Center, Medical Center Hospital, and the Ector County Health Department will provide an update today at 3 p.m.
