BREWSTER COUNTY, Texas (Nexstar) – Brewster County Deputies located 12 immigrants, in separate cases, over the weekend.
The first took place early Saturday morning. Deputies say they found four immigrants hiding in a culvert about 16 miles north of Marathon, according to a release.
The second occurred Saturday southwest of Marathon. Deputies say K9 Latek was able to track eight immigrants from Guatemala.
The third took place Sunday morning when deputies found four immigrants, from Guatemala, trespassing on private property near Marathon, according to a release.
All 16 of the immigrants were eventually turned over to U.S. Border Patrol, according to the BCSO.
