ECTOR COUNTY, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – 15 new Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Ector County, according to stats released Tuesday.
The total case count is now at 275, with an active case count of 183. Additionally, stats show 168 have recovered from the virus and 167 tests are still pending.
The update comes as case numbers have spiked in the Permian Basin.
Just last week more than 60 cases were confirmed in Ector County, with another 22 on Monday. Health officials say there is still time to halt the virus spike.
Doctors are pleading with the community to wear masks in public and to continue practicing social distancing and avoid large gatherings to keep the virus at bay.
