Local businessman donates $100,000 to El Paso victims

ODESSA, Texas (Big 2/Fox 24) – Local businessman John Bushman is offering assistance to families grieving in El Paso and is challenging Midland and Odessa residents to do the same.

On Monday, Bushman donated $100,000 for the 22 victims killed in the shooting over the weekend.

“We are heartbroken seeing the images from our neighbors in El Paso,” Bushman said in a statement. “We invite you to make your own donation to help the families of those impacted.”

The businessman is now asking the community to join him in assisting the El Paso community through monetary donations or by donating blood.

Two organizations will be accepting donations from the public.

A blood drive is also scheduled at Music City Mall to help those in El Paso. It will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10 by the Fuddrucker’s entrance at the mall.
