A bill, filed by Rep. Brooks Landgraf, that seeks to combat human trafficking has passed in the Texas House of Representatives.

House Bill 888 would make it a class B misdemeanor to “knowingly misrepresent a minor as a family member to a peace officer or a federal special investigator at a port of entry,” according to a release from Landgraf’s office.

It was passed by a vote of 94-46 Thursday afternoon.
