Oklahoma quarterback and recent Heisman winner Kyler Murray announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that he will enter the NFL draft.
I have declared for the NFL Draft.— Kyler Murray (@TheKylerMurray) January 14, 2019
Murray was drafted by the Oakland A’s in the first round of the 2018 MLB draft, giving him the option to choose between the MLB and the NFL.
The Sooners quarterback threw for 4,361 yards and 42 touchdowns last season. He also led Oklahoma to a Big 12 Championship and College Football Playoffs Semifinal appearance.
The A’s drafted Murray ninth overall. He signed a contract with the organization in June that included a $4.66 million signing bonus.
Murray has 72 hours to pull his name out of the NFL draft should he change his mind.
